The Requirements
To be a good fit for the Lead Technician - Shop opportunity, you will have:- A High School Diploma or equivalent, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical school is a plus.
- 7 years of Shop or Field Service experience in the truck and trailer maintenance and repair industry as a working technician Quick question for you - click here

- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills with all makes and models of trucks and trailers
- Proven high level of consistency in performing PM + DOT
- Demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic computer tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles
- PC computer proficiency; experience with MS Office Suite programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it's operating properly
- Ability to read schematics and familiarity with processes
- Your own set of hand tools and toolbox
- A valid driver's license; CDL license is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong communication skills to interface with customers and vendors, company management and support staff

The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, as Lead Technician, you will be in charge of a team of shop technicians providing the timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, and/or heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment. The team is responsible for delivering world-class maintenance and the industry's gold standard for customer service. You will be responsible for leading and supporting your team and ensuring they are delivering maintenance excellence (quality, safety and communication) by acting as the mechanical technical expert and supporting team members through teaching, guidance and mentorship, and by verifying the execution and delivery of quality service. - Ensure all employees under your supervision are working safely at all times and following applicable company policies and procedures.
- Train and support your team in preventive maintenance and DOT expertise + delivery. This work includes diagnostic repairs.
- Maintain and improve technician productivity through training and support.
- Perform quality assurance inspections on repairs that have been completed in the shop.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned by the General Manager.
- Ensure shop repairs are approved and completed by providing a written estimate to the customer.
- Ensure that the customer’s DOT compliance is maintained at 100% by ensuring that a ReDOT inspection is performed after follow-up repairs are completed.
- Take ownership of all aspects of the fleets you oversee to provide gold standard service.
- Maintain a group of satisfied long-term technicians.
- Provide estimates by using Motor or Mitchell 1 software programs
