The Requirements
To be a good fit for the Accounting Manager opportunity, you will have:- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience; experience managing direct reports is a plus
- Computer proficiency, including:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The Role
Reporting to the Controller, you will join a team that also includes the CFO, a Staff Accountant and 10 to 12 A/R and A/P Specialists. Our company is making the transition from mid-sized to enterprise in size and focus, and the Accounting team is reorganizing to support the transition. That means that your specific role will evolve over time, and you'll have input on the evolution. Quick question for you - click hereTo start with, you'll supervise the A/R and A/P Specialists, assisting with their questions and ensuring they are achieving day-to-day goals. In the near future, we expect that you will take on payroll, including overseeing a Payroll Specialist. Once you have those two areas down, you may branch out to take on credit card postings and other areas.
Your role may include any and all of these responsibilities:
- Heavy involvement with month end close processes, including posting journal entries and reviewing journal entries posted by subordinates
- Attending and participating in monthly region calls
- Maintaining fixed asset schedules and recording monthly depreciation entries
- Assuming responsibility for monthly payroll entry
- Reviewing monthly sales tax return workpapers
- Reviewing weekly credit card statements to ensure proper coding
- Approving weekly expense reports
- Assuming responsibility for monthly mobile truck lease invoice coding
- Completing monthly sales commission reports
- Assuming responsibility for weekly 401(k) contribution payments and reconciliation
- Assisting with year-end close and audit
- Assisting with year-end tax return workpaper prep
- Assisting with special projects as needed
